New York by a landslide/avalanche. If Maine were so great, I would have skied there. But, since I haven't, it can't be that good.

Anyway, Maine was always too far for me. I've only been to Acadia National Park in the summer. Seems like a nice place, though. Good lobster.

I second that. Besides, its says right on the signs when you enter our state "Maine, the way life should be."

Maine, simply because there's less New Yorkers to deal with ;) Oh wait a minute I grew up in NY

Due to the distance between the major ski areas in both states and the lack of east-west highways in northern new england i doubt there are too many people that have skied enough in both states to make an accurate comparison.

But I still vote for maine, just because there are fewer yankees fans.

I would have to say New York but that is only because I spend 99.9% of my time there. Do you really think Hunter is the 3rd best resort in NY? I cant think of anywhere better but I would not think that off the bat.

It has to be Holiday Valley and not at 3rd best, but 2nd best. Afterall Ski Magazine says so

I haven't been to Belleayre or Windham, but based on what I've heard, I think I'd like Hunter best of those three. I guess Plattekill is up there when the conditions are right. Never been there either.
