Somewhere in there I made my point.

Wait, are you trying to tell me that somewhere in your posts there's supposed to be a point? Like all your posts or just certain ones??

Seriously nice pics, looks like a good time!

As they say in Airplane II-

"Sargent, what's your point?"

"I have no point."

Looks like you two had fun. Did you stay up in Stowe?

Yeah, we stayed at the Innsbruck Inn. Not real fancy, but reasonably priced with nice grounds and good breakfast included.

Nice Stowe pictures...the rec path, long trail, and hiking around on the ski trails are all great. Did you hit any good restaurants? Do trip to Stowe for me is complete without a visit to The Shed and Pie-Casso

We actually did eat at The Shed. I had the Porter they were brewing for the summer with a stir fry. Fantastic to say the least.

Oh man, you've ruined the illusion! I always pictured Bill Murray when reading your posts.

Nice pics, cute girlfriend too . . .;-)

Sorry man, I'll keep the personal pictures to a minimum. :)

Yep...a cutie, alright. I was shocked that you didn't take a sheep on a romantic hiking vacation with you, Marc. "Maaaaaaarc when are we going baaaaaaaack to stowe?"

With the cliff involved in the final quarter mile to the Chin, it'd have to be a mountain goat. Err... I mean... no sheep.

I don't know what's going in Miguels place..the last time I was up in Stowe was late April. They also used to have a Miguels near Waitsfield. There has been alot of turnover among restaurants in Stowe. Pie-Casso used to be a French Restaurant and there was a McDonalds where Hanna is now located..

I though the Rusty Nail is where McDonald's used to be...

V wants to know if she skis?

She has once. I'm determined to get her to ski more, but I don't know how excited she is about the whole idea. She thinks she's not very coordinated when in reality she did very well her first time out. Of course, she did have an exceptional instructor... :dunce:

Here's one more of me... the story behind this is there was a green spruce tree along the rec path, seen in the picture, that was decorated like a Christmas tree. So I decided to throw my pack under it and make like it was a gift on Christmas morning. Yeah, I'm weird. Meredith humored me and took the picture.

It would have been better if you could tell the tree was decorated like a Christmas tree in the picture... ;)

Miguels was a favorite of ours but we thought both the service and food quality had gone down hill the last two times we ate there. Wonder what happened?

I had a few friends that worked there. It was a culmination of things. A lot of the resorts all now have dining and people are staying in. You wouldn't think they are that far down the mountain road, but they are. They got a bunch of the trafffic from that area, IE the Mountaineer, Stowhoff etc... but the places closer to the village usually just stop at Cactus Cafe if they want Texmex. I also think that opening the place on Church street in Burlington may have put a hurt to them, big price on real estate there.. If memory serves me, I think they got out of the chips and salsa game a while ago.

Well, Saturday would have been a day for the alpine slide, but it was really fricken hot and we spent a lot of it in the pool and sleeping by the pool (it was a vacation, after all).

Sunday was dismal, as you can see from the photo's. We drove through the notch and around waiting for the rain to stop and then we hiked, ate dinner, and relaxed in the hot tub for a while.

And Monday we drove back (after driving up the summit). Since we decided to take 100 down to 8, and the Mohawk Trail back across MA, we didn't really have the time to stop at Cabot or B&J's. I doubt we would have anyway. Too many damn tourists in the parking lot from the looks of it. We saw enough of those on the Upper Lip on Monday.
