McIntyre Ski Area in New Hampshire is awesome. Great snow, great grooming. lifts are awesome, awesome ski rentals, awesome staff and best part no lift lines on a very busy Saturday. Never heard of it you say. Well that may be the reason there are no lift lines. :smash:

Took the Grandson and Son skiing there on Saturday. Grandson first time skiing ever. This is the perfect place to get started. 2 Magic carpet lifts. and 2 chair lifts. All Green beginner trails. Lodge is new and clean. Great rentals for the kids. I can not say enough good things about the mountain and the staff.

Grandson had an awesome first day. Great snow, 40 degrees F, and sunny. It just doesn't get any better than this.

A McIntyre report. Is this a first-ever on AZ?! ;) It's probably the perfect place to bring beginners.

I was going to say first McIntyre report I've seen. Very cool. Sounds like a good day.

I was shocked to see this! However, since it is here, I will give my $.02. We started all of kids there with the exception of our youngest. The private lesson rate was and is way lower then taking private lessons else where! Why people take their kids to places like Stowe, Sugarbush, Bretton Woods or Waterville for first timers and pay $20-30 more is beyond me! It is great for learning for sure. Good for intermediates who just want to make turns as well.

However, after a few lessons we graduated our kids to Ragged, Gunstock and Sunapee and they never looked back nor did they want to which is why my youngest did not begin there! Instead we scored a really good three day one hour per day private lesson deal at Owl's Head that brought him from nothing to pizza to french fries in no time flat.

I am shocked. Are you saying there are better ski areas than McIntyre's 300 feet of awesome vertical? Wow really.

Seriously, feeder hills like McIntyre are extremely important to the ski industry. Many people go to a large mountain there first time and have a bad experience, with long waits for rentals and lift lines. I believe industry standard is 70% of first time skiers and riders never ever go back for a second day. I look at McIntyre and think how could you have a bad day learning to ski or ride here.

Shocked as not expecting that! It was cool that you brought visibility to them on a trip report! We have been there done that as I said earlier and you are right learning to ski at a big resort for the first time can be daunting and sets beginners up for no returns. The fact that is is practically in down town Manchester help too!

300ft would be awesome, to bad it's only 150ft of great vertical

Ahh...the memories. Growing up in Manch I night skied here a couple days a week from 4th-12th grade. Parents would just drop me off for a couple hours after dinner and my buddies and I would make lap after lap. Racing in high school was pretty funny, top to bottom slalom runs were sub 20 seconds.

It is a great place to get your 1st couple lessons in for kids. Not intimidating and save you a bunch of money. Anyone will move beyond it in no time. As a kid in Manch though, sure did make a great elementary and jr high hangout at night.
