I've been to Sugarbush 6 or 7 times, but the Castle Rock area was only open 3 times I was there. The place is great and deserves all the hype and love it gets.

Everyone is always talking about how they love Middle Earth, but no one mentions Castle Rock Run. I thought they where both great and very similar. Where am I wrong?

I enjoy both but I would have to say that I like Liftline and Rumble better than either one of those 2. I actually do prefer Castlerock Run to Middle Earth though. I find that the coverage usually tends to be a little bit better on Castlerock Run than on Middle Earth.

My Castlerock experiences are limited. Each time I've been there, I've found the snow to be better on Middle Earth. Not sure why. I like Castlerock Run a lot too, but I just prefer Middle Earth. Liftline humbled me and I haven't tried Rumble yet.

Maybe part of why I like Middle Earth is because it's somewhat removed from the other runs:

CR Run is sweet too, no doubt:

I view them as pretty similar as well. I haven't noticed the snow differences that others have. I generally find them to be in pretty similar conditions, and have lots of fun on either.

I'm with Greg...I don't know...just felt more "at home" on Middle Earth. Maybe its Feng Shui or something.

I like Castlerock Run a little more. Granted, last Sunday, Castlerock Run had MUCH more coverage than ME which might offset my choice a bit, and if it wasn't like that, It'd be a tie probably. Middle Earth is steeper, but is a bit wider than CR. I don't know. Both I guess.

Man, Zand. It's like we skied two different mountains between last Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, while CR had more snow up top, it was denser and heavier while ME was light and sweet for most of the run. Good coverage all the way until it crossed Troll Road too.

Yeah, but that's what happens in the spring. There's so much melt and freeze that trails can change drastically overnight. I wish I was there Saturday, the snow did sound better.

I suppose CR might have needed to be skied in a bit more as it had far less traffic than ME saw as of late Saturday am from what I could tell. Perhaps the Saturday pm traffic skied in CR for you and skied off ME...
