I know this topic has been locked, my apologies to trailboss for re-opening it. However, I'm invoking moderator's perogative to share this e-mail I just got from JJ at Sugarbush:

JJ Toland said:
I want to apologize to anyone who was offended by yesterday’s Mountain Views. The piece was written in a humorous context and not intended as a slight to the Catholic faith. The aim of the story was to put some of my past experiences growing up in Catholic schools in a hyperbolic and amusing light, and relate them to a recent weather event; i.e., the expression “Good things come to those who wait” being the perfect idiom to describe the Valentine’s Day blizzard. The descriptions of past school encounters were exaggerated and meant to entertain, and possibly be points of relation to anyone who had similar experiences.

I really have enjoyed writing Mountain Views over the last four years and have always tried to make them as light-hearted and entertaining as possible, never offensive. This last one was off the mark.

Please feel free to contact me at jtoland@sugarbush.com if you’d like to discuss this further. If you’d like to speak with me directly, I’ll also be on the hill this weekend; we’re expecting over a foot of new snow by Saturday.

Again, my sincerest apologies,

JJ

There was no offense intended and he's obviously sorry if it bothered anyone.

And I will preemptively apologize to anyone who tries to respond to this because I'm going to lock it. No need to beat dead horses.
