Resort or Ski Area: Mohawk
Conditions: chilly, night, mm hard pack, some mm pow
Trip Report: Chaperon duty for local kids. wasn't expecting much due to recent weather so took my time getting out after we got the kids squared away.
From base you could see that Mohawk was fighting back against Mother Nature, the hill was covered in a haze of snow flying from the fan guns. Only took 5 runs, Wildwood was the trail of the night. the new man made snow covered the trail well and there was an inch or 2 of ungroomed powder along the left side if you could deal with skiing thru the snow making.
good news was the TX.Direct water repellent i put on my pants and gloves seemed to work. a week earlier with the same conditions (active snow making while skiing) resulted in a wet cold night but last night I stayed dry.
