I know Mohawk isn't as large or desirable as some of the more popular mountains in this forum, but it's still a nice local place if you're in Litchfield County in Connecticut.
We were skeptical how good the conditions would be given the rain on Friday and unusually warm temps on Saturday. Snow proved to be pretty hard packed at the start of the day. Courduroy was rough and slippery until it started to break up into more of a powder-like snow. Crowds weren't too bad, most likely due to the high winds and cooler temps. Winds were howling--riding on the chair lifts was almost torture at times when the wind really picked up.
Started the day with Deer Run, Laurel, and Pine, cutting over occassionally from Pine to Route 100 to get away from the learners. Ledges and Pinnacle were mostly deserted. Mohawk, Arrow Head, and Exhibition were pretty good--none of them really got busy until around noon when the classes started rolling in. Nice having the trails mostly to ourselves. Snow was broken up pretty well over on Arrow Head and Exhibition, not quite as hard packed, leading to some real good skiing as the day wore on. No lift lines all morning added to the enjoyment. By one it was time to go... finally got sick of skiing into the wind gusts. All in all, a good day...

Please, severine. Keep 'em coming. Reports from any Northeast mountain are welcome! I live in Litchfield County so I found this report useful, although I usually head to the Berkshires to ski. Thanks again!
