For those of you (if any) that have been to Mont Ste Anne in Beupre, Qeubec; I am hoping you've skied "super s" or "la crete". I have been searching for stuff that is simply as steep let alone as steep for as long. I've been to Sugerloaf, Sunday River, Whiteface, and a handful of other smaller mountains and have yet to find anything that comes close. So far I'd have to vote Whiteface's skyward? as the closest, but it still isn't as steep. Anyone have suggestions for where else to search? I had been told by handfuls of people that Whiteface could probably match it, but it left me wanting a bit more challenge (of course moguls provide plenty given my older 191 x9's).

hmmmmm..... I've skied Mont St Anne a few times, its definately got solid terrain but nothing that you cant find at most northern new england areas. la crete is the wide cruiser that follows the left edge of the mountain isn't it?? super s is another steep cruiser IIRC. le canyon is a pretty sick trail and there are some nice glades on the front face but you said you couldnt find anything comperable at sugarloaf  nitro, gauge, gondi, are all steep groomers, winters way and bubblecufer are tougher/ longer than le canyon! never been to Whiteface but it dwarfs anything on the east coast 3k + vertical. Maybe you should try sugarbush. FIS, maybe organgrinder both are as steep as anything at st anne. Good luck!

try jackson hole if you still can't find anything around here

While I am only speculating, Skyward for those 1800' of vertical is probably about as steep as it gets in the northeast. There are certainly much steeper pitches than what is found on Skyward but those trails do not have the consistency of pitch. Skyward sometimes seems easier because it is almost always groomed.

The front four at Stowe and the terrain off of the single chair at MRG would qualify as consistently steep runs.

If those don't work, maybe you should consider the Grizzly Downhill at Snowbasin.

Super "S" is the one I was thinking of more, it is still the steepest and most consistent drop I've come by. Crete is the cruiser to the left, with the pretty short, but real steep drop around a corner. Sugarloaf had some stuff come pretty close. Skyward is probably one of the closest I've seen, but the biggest disappointment I've encountered so far would be Sunday River's White Heat. Most the blues at MSA have sections that are more severe than that. I am hoping to be able to get out west for a bit once I'm done with school. I just love steep and long so I can bomb so lazy shallow turns-which means no crowds, so I can do it safely. Another reason I love MSA, my family always went up during a pretty dead week for them.

if my memory serves me correctly, there is nothing like whiteface's skyward on the east coast. been to mt. ste. anne 6 years ago, but do not recall anything close to skyward.

as klrskiah said, if skyward doesn't cut it for you, time to go out west or to the alps.

Corbet’s Couloir at Jackson Hole ??
