That looks pretty strange on trail map. Green trail surrounded by double blacks and blacks. How steep actually is it?
I nominate the Jordan-to-White-Cap traverse at Sunday River. It's something like Kansas - Lights Out - Downdraft (easy blue) - Tourist Trap (blue) - Roadrunner. The Kansas - Lights Out part is the worst, but the whole traverse is definitely a challenge.
You beat to it. Additionally, GN "carries" lots of higher level traffic to other trails, so lower level folks are certainly not alone. So between the carrying traffic, the trail crossings and the (in places) narrowness...it's an awful Green trail.
Easy Rider off the Okemo summit is close for similar reasons. Doesn't cross as many trails but it does cross some, narrow in spots, flat in others...tough for a true beginner.
Ironic, considering Sky gets nervous with the pitch of Ollie's at Wachusett....
Really? I think that one is waaay too flat, and while it's challenging in the sense that you may have to pole a lot, I'd nominate Lollapalooza. Its top is reasonably steep and gets so much traffic that it gets icy, resulting in a lot of scared beginners. I think Lolla is actually a great trail overall, but it seems like (relative to the rest of SR) it is blue at the top, but they wish it were green so that beginners can get to the lodge/hotel off of it.
I'm pretty sure Sky is taller than the vert. covered by Ollie's.
