And what better way to celebrate than to get your wife/mother of your children the ski stuff or season's lift pass she's always dreamed of (I know this sounds like an ad, but it's also a GREAT BIG HINT to my husband).

Don't forget -- you only have til May 14 and the ski clearance sales are going on now!

Your husband's a lucky man. My wife is a once in awhile skier. She's not a nag and she knows she won't see much of me on the weekends during the season, but I wish she was into it like you. I'd get her any gear she'd want, lessons, never leave her side (well maybe), anything to make the experience a great one, but it just ain't her.

I'm hopeful my wife will come around once both kids are skiing regularly. She's been skiing recreationally since she was a little kid (maybe a handful of times per year) and is actually a strong intermediate skier. I don't know that she'll ever been as whacked out about it as I am, but if I can get the kids hooked, it would be nice for all of us to ski as a family several times per season. My wife is definitely into the skiing "culture" when we all go away on ski trips so I think there's a good shot.

Ski stuff for Mother's Day...HEH!! I think my wife would consider that right up there with a bowling ball with my name engraved in it. I already scored her new gear this past season and she's all excited about that. PLUS! Plus she already "post season" mentioned taking ski lessons at the beginning of next year. So...I'll just let that fire "smolder" all summer long and ratchet things up around anniversary time (Sep 9).

My wife too. When she does go she always as a great time. She starts talking about what she wants to do the next time and so on. However, when the proposed next time rolls around she has about 20 reasons why she can't go. Dang women.

Ain't that so often the case -- usually one is more into it than the other, whatever "it" happens to be. In my case, I'm the ski nut. My husband goes with me most of the time, but sometimes even HE has enough, and I ski end up skiing alone.

Have you ever watched the show Wife Swap? Maybe we should enter or families next ski season. ;-)

My wife literally forced me to try skiing a few years back. She created a monster! With the exception of a day or two we are always out there together.

Since we consider our dogs children, wifey will end up getting new boots, binding, skis, and poles. Its only right since I splurged on myself a few weeks back.

Or you could be like my husband & myself. Always fighting over who's turn it is to stay in at the lodge & take care of the kids or who has taken more runs than the other.

Sometimes I see some guys whose brides are staying in the lodge, watching the the kids, reading a book, dealing with the kids' wet gear & cold feet and I think ... those men are very lucky.

It wil be great when we're all out on the trails together!

I'll have to pass on this one...I'm selfish when it comes to my wife and don't like to share.

JimmyG you have 2,000 + posts so I reckon you know what ;-) means.

Anyways, that is one nutty show. It's always some conservative stay at home mom, who waits on her husband hand and foot, home schools, etc. switching with a wacky, working, me first, won't clean polar opposite. My wife and son like to watch it and sometimes I'll get talked into it.

Sometimes it's a refugee from Jerry Springer switching with a really hot mom. I like those.

Yes, and I figger you've been married for quite some time and that you must know about trolling for brownie points.

We have a lot in common wclinch. I am also the ski diehard in our family. SkiDork likes
to ski but he usually does not ski as long as me or ski the harder terrain as much as me. Today he quit when it was time to start the BBQ. I kept going and after eating hiked over to the Canyon area at Killington with my son and another K-zoner. Later in the day I also hiked over to Bear Mountain with another K-zoner and skied Outer Limits. SkiDork was kind enough to come over and pick us up.

Ahhh.....your wife checks out your posts. Good move. Might be some romance goin on at the G. residence this weekend.

It was a fine weekend even without skiing.

Except for the hours of yardwork I had to do.
