Got to Bolton Valley at 11:00
to find all the lifts on wind hold.We decided to check out Mt.Ellen instead. The snow was coming down at a pretty good pace and no liftlines to speak of.We skied mostly blues and took lots of breaks. Freakin' windy!I liked lower f.i.s. It had enough powder on the edges to make it skiable, but the runout at the bottom is brutal.Last chair up to the top and the wind was really howling. The summit was total boilerplate all the new snow gone.My older son was getting pelted in the face and cried the whole way down. Felt bad for him.
I definitly want to come back here perhaps in the spring!
Skiing Bolton today- hope they get the lifts runnin'.

Did you get out to Bolton? We were going to go but bailed when we saw the upper mt. Lifts still on wind hold early this am. I ended up taking my BC XC skis out on the Catamount trail for a few hours... Which was actually very very enjoyable.

The winds were still blowing at Mount Ellen today. We only stayed for an hour because of that and the conditions. They will groom it out more and it will be fine. As for the wind, this has got to be nearing a record because the wind has halted lift operations at Sugarbush almost everyday the last eight or so and I can only think of one day when Heaven's Gate actually ran. Unreal.

I think only the Vista quad was on wind hold until about 10:30. We started out over on Wilderness and lapped Peggy Dow's- Turnpike a few times. Fresh snow to be had in the lower sections of the Wilderness Woods. Cobrass skied really well in the morning although it got skied off pretty quick. We spent the rest of the day over in Timberline. Adam's Solitude was the pick of the day- my son loved this trail and for good reason! All the windblown must have ended up in the woods. Clearly made up for Saturday's Mt. Ellen experience.

I was really surprised they kept running the Summit quad all day Saturday. Our last ride up the wind must have been blowing in excess of 50mph and I started getting a little nervous (my son's crying didn't help!).

The Summit chair at Mt Ellen is only worth the trip for FIS, Black Diamond or the view on a sunny day. You're braver than I am to ride that chair on Saturday.

Glad to hear your son went back!
