Date: December 13th AKA "the day after the storm"
Resort: Mount Snow
Conditions: Weather in the teens, moderate wind, sunny, LOTS of shiny trees, fan guns going, VERY GOOD machine groomed snow
Report: Okay, short version for my short morning session on the Discovery Triple, as other lifts weren't spinning yet due to ice/power issues. The storm was from a snow side of things a positive. Groomed out very nice, PHENOMENAL base snow. The storm from a tree/power side wasn't a good thing While the mountain has basic power in the base area, per the ski report, there won't be power to the summit today until repairs to the lines can be made. Once lifts reopen, my guess is that while the tree areas will be close to ready, from what I've seen, those of us that like the woods will have some debris to dodge, and probably more debris will fall in the next day or two until temps get above freezing and the ice falls off. The wind today, although not severe by any means isn't helping the tree/powerline situation.
The snow is skiing great, but some patience is going to be needed for all the power and tree issues to be sorted out around Southern VT.
I'll probably post a session 2 TR later, after Mount Snow gets some mid mountain lifts spinning hopefully later this morning.
