Conditions: Machine Groomed Packed Powder

Trip Report:

Great day out cruising the slopes and trails of Snow. Hit the hill right at 9am and other than a break for a brewski and a burger was out logging vertical until 3:45 in the afternoon. Snow was pretty firm in most spots with the exception of the North Face which was ungroomed fresh manmade snow that skied oh so nice!

Spent the morning riding the Bluebird Express cruising the main face and Carinthia. The new lift is pretty impressive, very fast, smooth and super comfortable! Kinda like sitting on the sofa in front of the TV by the woodstove feeling, didn't want the lift ride to end. :-D

Anyway after my lunch break at Cuzzins the rest of the day was spent banging the bumps on Freefall! I must have lapped the North Face at least 15 times in the afternoon and my body reminded me of that when I got out of bed on Wednesday morning.

Guns were firing all day long on Chute, Snowdance, and Nitro. Here's some pictures.......

Nice!

Thanks for the report. Freefall looks nice! Looks like Chute getting the love also! Heading over tomorrow. A few inches of fresh on that will look even better!

Shiny Lift! Its going to take a lot of effort to keep those bubbles operating and looking pristine.

Rumor has it, they've contracted with a local car detailer to "buff" any imprerfections out of the bubbles.

Great TR! I'm gonna have to hit the bumps on the NF tomorrow. Heard they got some snow overnight...just not sure how much. At least the temps look good for snowmaking for the next week or so.

great pics, love the snowmaking porn.

In my opinion Freefall isn;t as bad as it's rep. I think it's a pretty good trail, especially with the steeps and double fall line. Just get's all the damn traffic so gets slick fast. Fallen Timbers with it's view is one of my favs over there...

There's a hi res camera that takes a picture of each chair as it loads and unloads (the pictures from the top terminal are actually put up on some of the flat screen monitors in the base lodge in real time). There's plenty of signage in and around the lift and base area saying that if you're caught defacing the lift, you could be hit with upto a $3000 fine if the bubble needs replacing. The mounatin and the ambassadors, and many of us regular Mount Snow skiers/riders are very interested in keeping this amazing lift in as pristine a condition as possible. People that want to deface this lift ae plain and simple just a$$holes, and frankly the equivalent (putting a sticker, writitng on it/scratching it) should be done to THEIR say flatscreen TV/IPad/whatever to convey a message.

Agreed. But I think it's still going to happen, Jeff. :(.
