Hey gang, cruising to Mt. Snow this weekend. Getting really excited, hoping the rain does’nt ruin everything.
Anyways.
What are the fastest groomers?
Where are some good tree stashes?
Best place to grab a beer?
Anything else you think a first timer should know?
Cheers!

There's a plethora of fast groomers on the main face and Sunbrook pretty much every day. Also look at the daily snow report for what they groomed on the North face for that day as other fast groomer options.

Please though, especially on a Holiday weekend, keep the speed down on Long John (the main top to bottom beginner run!!)

Lots of tree stashes, pretty sure though that after the warm and predicted downpours on Friday and freeze up on Saturday PM that even if it snows 6" on the backside on Saturday, that it will be UGLY in the trees until another foot or so falls!!

Bar wise... In the main base lodge, Cuzxins on the first floor is the louder, bigger crowd, more casual "party" bar. Upstairs, the Station Taproom, my personal favorite, is 24 taps of craft beer and cider. I didn't try the new downstairs Canned that opened last weekend (only cans of VT craft brews and ciders and small bites)

Ride the bluebird if the weather is iffy - trust me being covered on the ride up is worth the wait AND the bar and bubble open by themselves in the top unloading terminal as long as nobody has their feet on the safety bar!! Newbies always try and open it themselves ;)

Wear waterproof. Enjoy the Bubble Chair.

What are the fastest groomers?

Some of the trails on the North Face are usually groomed. Those would be "fastest" as they have the steepest pitch of any groomed trails on the mountain. If things turn super slushy you might have more fun over here.

Where are some good tree stashes?

The best trees are to the left of Olympic (enter near the top) but if we get much rain at all you're going to wreck your skis on exposed rock/tree. Mt Snow is kind of lacking on trees compared to most places, but there's a couple other short ones over on the North Face as well. There's another one that is a decent length in Sunbrook (it's on the map like most of them).

Best place to grab a beer?

Your pocket/backpack. "Mt Snow IPA" at Cuzzins is pretty good.

Anything else you think a first timer should know?

The lodge at the summit upstairs has a chill bar/restaurant and a good place to take breaks / dry off without going through the hassle of going in/out a base lodge.

Crowds are INTENSE on holiday weekends. Avoid the bubble lift to avoid lift lines. There is a mid-mountain lift named "Sundance" that is usually a good bet for doing fast laps w/ no liftlines. Also Northface lifts usually have manageable liftlines.
