Looking to go away for a few days with my wife and play golf. The past few years we have played at Stratton. We are now considering go to Mount Snow to stay and play. How do the two courses Stratton and Mount snow compare. I was pleased with Stratton’s courses we just want to try something different. We are coming from Long Island. Any Suggestions.

Stratton golf course vs. Mount Snow Golf course (and i'll even through in the Haystack Golf course too)

Design wise, Stratton and Mount Snow are similar in how the are layed out and roll across the land they're on. Mount Snow to me seems to play a bit more up and down than any of the 3 9's at Stratton do. Stratton usually seems to be mowed a bit closer than Mount Snow, but they're both usually in excellent shape. Both have great views that can often cause one's thoughts to drift away from their games that day.

Haystack Golf course. My personal favorite of the 3. It's a bit more "quirky" in its design with the front 9 being a bit more open and seemingly on top of the adjacent holes, whereas the back 9 has much more elevation changes and is a bit tigher and you basically don't see another hole while playing the one your on.

At any of the 3, you get the fun of mountain golf, and that's ok in my book

I don't golf these days, but my high school best friend is a PGA teaching professional with Head Pro at the Taconic on his resume. He talks a lot of golf while we ski together in Southern Vt. His opinion is that Okemo's course is the best of Southern VT ski mountain courses.

just throwing another option out there
