$399 for a seven day pass is a steal IMHO. They've set the standard. Be interesting to see what K-mart does...

Additional information at Attitash. Same exact packages, same prices, but also has:

GRANITE PASS
• All Ages
• Valid At: Attitash and Crotched Mountain
• Valid Every Day

$499

So basically it's an Attitash season pass, adding Crotched mountain season pass for an extra 100$

http://www.attitash.com/seasonpasses.html

No data on passes from Crotched yet.

By in NH and no sales tax! By in VT 6% sales tax up through the end of June and then 7% after July 1st. Saves just under $50 on the no black out Nor'easter pass!

I think this may be the local "West Dover 1% sales tax" that was recently approved by West Dover residents. Supposedly they're going to use the money to improve the town.

mlcvt is correct that the town West Dover voted to institute an additional 1% tax, effective July 1, 2007. VT state tax is still 6%, but purchases in the town of West Dover (which includes Mount Snow) will be at 7%.

I think that when the new mgt at K posts their pass prices, it will really give a look at where the heart of that mgt team will be. A real competitive number, followed by an agressive snowmaking season next year will be a good sign for the skiing/riding side of K.

If you see an arbitrary pass price number, that is closer to Okemo pricing (heading on $1000) and then another semi-lackluster non season extension snowmaking/operating schedule, then you'll know that the main focus of the new mgt will be on getting that village built and catering to the typically December 15th through March 15th deep pockets crowd that they hope to sell a ton of new townhomes to. Remember, the realized profit on a $750,000 townhome = ALOT of passes

But then they have to deal with all the bitc%^ing and complaining from the people who buy those houses ("my sushi is cold"...."the gondola is cold"...."why do I have to ski with THOSE people?"). So they are no better off...

I think Okemo has it right for pass prices. If you look at all their options, you'll find everything is well priced except the unrestricted passes. I am all for resorts soaking the crap out of people who crowd them on vacation weeks.

I was going to disagree, but then I went and looked. You're absolutely right. $549 for a pass good at Okemo and Straton is a pretty good deal. Not sure I agree with the 'soaking', An extra 500$ to be able to ski holiday periods is just plain silly.

The holiday weeks are just not worth it at places like Okemo and Stratton IMO anyway. Good time to check out the places that have reasonable day prices or take a couple weeks off of snow. Christmas break is typically pretty bad conditions anyway. This year I visited Crotched a few times at night and Ascutney during the day on Presidents week and didn't wait even a minute in line. I really don't like crowds..
