MRG and backcountry - 1/26-27

Brenda and I hit some nice backcountry goods near Stowe this weekend after a challenging day at MRG on Saturday. There was a foot of fresh snow on top of a boilerplate base, which was fantastic on the lower angle slopes but murder on the steep stuff, as the whole hillside would slide as soon as you attempted the first turn.

I absolutely won't pass that along to Brenda. It's just extra gear stuffed into jacket pockets.

But I have friends who've skied into their eighth month or relatively gentle terrain.

DOH! My bad! It was the one shot in the video, I didn't realize the pics were one and the same.....and thanks for the info...still makes me paranoid though!

I have a strong x-country background and really enjoy watching the backcountry stuff, something I always wanted to get into.
