Definitely some cool pics. I would love to get up there and check it out but MRG should do a little spell check on their webpage. I know they are a non-profit and all but this is ugly:

The return station building is now an empty shell. Fortunately we are able to do the restoration withou having to damage this structure. Thank goodness for hydrolics! - May 28

Removing and trucking the towers to Maine and back has to be a very costly operation.

I was thinking the same thing. It seems like there must be an operation closer by that could sand-blast the towers for them... Hell get a big portable sand-blaster and do it right in the parking lot, then you have a nice new layer of sand in the lot when you're done.

Yea, I was up there this past weekend & checked it out. It looks so weird to have the large empty space all up the liftline. A couple of weeks ago, my son & I climbed up a short ways just to check it out. We did not go up high enough to see Chute, however. I was impressed by how steep that area of the mountain is without snow on it. We especially noticed this when we hiked down to the base. It's a completely different perspective when you don't have skis on sliding on snow.

The parking lot is loaded with both the old and some of the new lift towers. The new paint job on those towers is impressive & very bold & bright, especially when you compare it to the old rusty lift towers laying right next to them.

Totally. Brian and I hiked Sundown last summer and the terrain looks much different in the summer. Even little Sundown seemed more rugged and steep.
