Resort or Ski Area: Mt. Abram - Locke Mills Maine
Conditions: POWDER!
Trip Report: Yes! This has been a great ski week. Two great Saddleback trips and serious powder day at Mt. Abram.
We clicked in about 9:30AM with about 2 inches of fresh snow on the ground and it snowed about an inch and hour all day. The day just kept getting better and better. As the day wore on, we were getting shin deep and more in powder shots. It was a blast.
Our favorite run today was Upper Rocky's Run to Snidley Whiplash to the lower part of Fearless Leader. Great pitch to allow us to really bounce on the pillows of fun. Our first trip down Snidley Whiplash was first tracks and generated many a hoot and holler by the 4 of us. When we came out of it 2 ski patrollers were watching us with big grins on their faces. What a hoot. Boris Badenov was excellent all day as well.
Mt. Abram is a gem of a hill in the shadows of Sunday River. Mid sized - about 1,150 feet Vert but boy is it fun when they have the snow! I highly recommend it!
Some powder pics to close out.
Serious First Run of the Day Fresh for the Boyz
Wife attacking Rocky's Run
Dropping into Snidley Whiplash
Boy #1 getting some Serious Fearless Leader Pow
More Wife Fearless Leader Pow Action
The Zone Glade - the only thing that on the mountain that was kinda thin cover. Upper Zephyr glade was quite good
Boy #1 Floating on Boris Badenov
Last Run of the day on Boris Badenov
