I know there have been a few reports already from Friday and Saturday at Mt. Snow, but I just wanted to re-iterate how great the conditions were. (Rub it in the faces of everyone that didn’t ski this w/e). Bluebird with cool breeze Friday, overcast to sun poking out with no wind on Saturday. Was solo Friday, with my buddy Chris Saturday.
The North Face was what it was all about. All the trails mentioned were great! Chute had the best coverage, but Challenger and Jaws were just as fun. Did them all several times. Skied Ripcord once each day. Perhaps our favorite run Saturday was PDF, to Lower Epiphany, to Lower Challenger. Great spring corn conditions!
Must have crossed paths with all of you Dr. Jeff, Momma Bear, Zand, and Skijay.
May have shared a lift with you Friday skijay. Some dude told me he just skied Ripcord, and I later saw him hitting it again, maybe you?
Saw someone in the Main Lodge Saturday just before 10:00 that may have been Dr. Jeff? I had come in to meet up with my friend. Without the brew fest helmet, I couldn’t make a call, probably should just start asking………………………
Too bad nobody showed up Saturday, you couldn’t even give a ticket away in the parking lot. The North Face could definitely open next weekend with at least four trails including Chute…………………..Carinthia doesn’t do it for me. Onward to Killington now………
One other note - this has to be the most corn harvesting I’ve ever done in one spring in my eight years of serious skiing. What a great spring it has been despite no snow for the most part. Cold nights rock! Good planning helps. Amazing how long the base depths have lasted.
Jaws, PDF, Chute, Challenger, Epiphany:

Nice pics Reefer! It wasn't me in the lodge around 10 on Friday as I was on the hill from about 9:15 until about noon for break #1 that day ;) Plus, as I found out on the day of the Duct Tape Derby, my Captain Fangun blue hard hat is really weird and wind noisy to ski in ;) I just save it now for Cuzzin's Deck beer sessions with Vcunning :)

Love the pics of Jaws, and I was responsible for a good deal of the tracks on skiers' left tree line above the mid trail thin spot and then skiers right tree line from there to the bottom.

I'm thinking that on Sunday, I might need to do a bit of hiking from the top of Nitro to the summit and then grab one more Jaws runs (not a bad hike out the the bottom of the Northface if you use the Cat service road/High Country Snowmobile tours access road that connects with One More Time right where The Boonies start.

When not wearing his Captain FanGun outfit including the Blue Snowmaking Helmet, Dr Jeff tends to wear his 9-year old Steelers Starter jacket, snow encrusted blue jeans and his hot pink rear-entry boots. But don't make fun of him, his 5-year old daughter might challenge you to a ski-off and from what I've seen, she would probably win!

I'll probably wear my blue Captain Fan Gun hard hat this weekend (and hopefully next weekend) on the Carinthia Deck this weekend.

to round this out...

Carinthia was amazing Friday. We were there all week for cutters waiting on the weather and when friday morning came it delivered.

Nitro was uber fun... everything less then 20 feet, it made the hung over and the young feel like champions. Pipe was cut by some of the best operators on the east teh day before, so the trannys begged for some attention.

inferno was missing most of the top half, but the instalation of the large rainbow rail was done well and slid smoothly on its way into two larger jumps at the bottom.

Gulch was a bit rough at the begining of the day while the diggers finished hand work, but it came together nicley.

the dig crew was out all day until about 2pm keeping jumps nice. Super fun times.

We haven't skied since the Sink or Skim/ Duct Tape Derby.

My wife and her folks took a ride over there on Friday afternoon; she bought some stuff at Mt. Snow sports. I was busy hanging a new spotlight.

Looks like they still have some decent coverage!
