More appropriate comparison would be Smuggs family of four for $1700 vs Stowe for $5500

Is Stowe 3 times the value?

I'd say no.

Now I like Stowe the best of any mountain in the East and by a large margin. But if I was supporting a family skiing in Northern Vermont, I'd be buying the Smuggs deal and then skiing Stowe on VSAA days and other deals. Only way I could justify $5500 in season pass expenses is if I pulled in $200K+ a year in family income. And that's fine. That's the market Stowe is after.

I'm in for a pass like this that works between both mountains. I'd be willing to pay a bit more for the ability to ski both areas.

We jumped on the Stratton Sunday passes this year. It was $199 each if you bought last spring. Too good to pass up. Halfway through the third Sunday is the break even point. Looking foward to switching it up a bit this year.

I think you need to remove your "Homer".

I bought the mt snow 1826 pass for 319 and then about a week later I get an email about the new dual mountain 1826 pass for just $30 more

Think I could get a refund for the 1826 pass so I can trade up to the dual mountain pass?

Agreed. Mountains are usually cool about this kind of thing in my experience. Especially before the season has begun.

They have explicitly stated that people who purchased the 18-26 pass prior to the announcement of the Double Down pass will be able to upgrade to the Double Down for just the difference in cost between the 2, which I believe is $50

Shawnee Peak in Maine also offers a family deal. $2150 for 2 adults and an unlimited number of kids up to age 21.

To me that is not a deal. Also meant multi mountain family deals.

From what I understand, it comes with a freebee from eTrade...
..........or maybe I read that wrong...

They originally had a cheap college season pass for students with college IDs. They recently did away with college passes and replaced them with the 1826 passes. I guess its just the whole age bracket their targeting

With my school's discount this worked out to a lovely $352.03 after tax. That's $11.73 a day for 30 days... I'm gonna try to get that below $10/day! See you all on the slopes ;P
