I've got a friend who works for Mount Snow and he just sent me an email that they're targeting a Nov 10th opening based on the weather forecast for late this week and next week. I'll be there for first chair Saturday morning.

I could have told folks that about a month ago when I found out courtesy of my wife that I absolutely can't make it to Mount Snow that day because of a prior arrangement :( That's the only Saturday within the normal opening window that I couldn't be there, so that's when they'll open of course

I know exactly what you mean Drjeff. Last year we rented our condo for one weekend a month to the same couple and it was all scheduled out in the fall. It seemed like every weekend it was they're time we get a nice snowstorm on Thursday or Friday! and I'd be stuck in Connecticut mad as hell. This year we're not renting it out.

We sure had fun in the jib park on Launch Pad. Now it's time to build up our base and get some trails open. Starting Thursday evening, temps look like they will hang out in the 20s every night through next week. My spies in Mountain Operations have informed me that Macho Snowmakerman Randy Barrows is itching to get the new fan guns humming on our Canyon/Standard route. River Run will get a whitening treatment so guests can get to the North Face, where they can take the lift back to the summit. And coming straight from the Peak Resorts owner himself, there are plans to start blowing on our new Vermontster park as early as possible.

Last Wednesday I made a prediction that we'd be open by November 12. If this weather forecast holds, I'll be seeing you then.

Happy Boo Day.

Sounds good to me. Add in YSD's predicted dump on 11/11 and skiing on 11/12 should be sweet! ;)

"Temperatures are turning colder and we're about to get serious about snowmaking. Stay tuned to the snow report for updates. "

I would expect things to be fired up tonight quite a bit. This past week was just a tease.

I still think you can hit the mountain and 8 am, ski for 2 hours and be back in Connecticut by 1:00 pm.:p 1:30 if you include a stop a Dot's!

And to think, less than a year ago (post Thanksgiving, which was late in the month anyways), we we're downloading off of Canyon Express. The teasing has to stop!

With the way the weather looms they should be open by 11/10 with all the fan guns. A group of us are headed up there on 11/12. Cold weather next week! WHOOHOOOO

V - asking me to just ski for 2 hours on the 1st day and then ONLY spend 30 minutes at Dot's is WAY too much to ask for. Plus apparently I need to spend a few hours "primping" for the function I'm attending with my wife later that day
