Conditions: Packed powder, lower 20's, overcast, somewhat windy

Headed up to Sunapee again since I didn't get to explore it too well when I went last week. The conditions weren't as nice this time. The snow was rather firm in most places, so took a lot more effort to edge it. I didn't dress warm enough either and there was a stiff wind blowing up some of the trails. I had to duck into the lodge a couple times to warm up my toes.

It was a lot busier than I expected for a weekday. I got there early, but then people kept rolling in. Today is their two for one price day, so maybe that's why. Or maybe they are just busy every day, I don't know. Booting up in the lodge before the lifts were open, I noticed there were a lot of gray haired retiree folks suiting up and greeting each other as if they go there a lot. But it's a pretty big area, so it didn't amount to any significant waits for the lifts.

They seem to have almost all of their trails open at this point. They were making snow here and there, but it's mostly just fine tuning I guess.

I wore myself out in the morning, then took a long lunch and ate too much, so took it easy in the afternoon. Had a good time, but I wish it would have been a little less windy.

Entering Porky's. Moments after I shot this I took my first fall of the season. Porky's surprised me by being somewhat steep, narrow, and curving suddenly.
I tried to slow down when I should have just fired through it, ended up going over the handlebars, but didn't land too hard.

I think this is probably shot from Skyway Ledges

The Parking lot filled up. Don't any of these people have jobs?

How were those bumps? Firm? Worth going up by Saturday?

I don't ski bumps, so couldn't say. I didn't see any people on them. If they were like the trails, I'd guess they were on the firm side, but probably not icy.

I didn't hit any of the glades, but I think they are all open. It looks like they are getting a dusting of new snow today, but nothing significant.

I might be going up Sunday. Saturday plans were ruined by a funeral.

* Note - only weddings and funerals are good excuses to miss a day of bump skiing.

I took friday off, 01/08, the bumps in liftline has been smooth out. Goose still has some death cookies and needs the freestyle team to slip it. The seed section in cataract is hopeless... death cookies and flat spots :(

The place added some "natural zone" for bumps to form on there own, there was nice line forming on the one below chipmunk, take skier's left, take the first trial and stay on it.

I'm confused. I was there Friday 1/8 and Lift Line wasn't smoothed out. The bumps were skiing pretty nice. Goose definitely was a bit rough with some dangerous chunks though.

There were def bumps on liftline - shredded them myself. Firm but carvable.

Some would say the bumps were icy, I would just call them 'technical'.
