This week I'm working about a half hour from Mtn Creek. Is skiing there worth it tomorrow or Wednesday night? I figure the crowds won't be too bad since so many people were out on the slopes this weekend. Anyone up for an Alpinezone meetup?

Weeknights great there. The trails are in good shape, and you're right about it not being crowded. I'd love to meet up, but I'm going up north next weekend, which means I need to get all my shit done during the week.

i wish i had my car i would show you around. the nights are fine. it will be ski on. south peak and bear is where they have all the terraine features. granite has the best steeps. parking is easier at south but if you park at north just parking the the paid parking there is never anyone in the booth. the just opened a new bar right by the patrol building that is really nice. if you need any other in shoot me a pm.

No but if you're not in the pay lot at North it's a long walk to the base of the mountain. 5 minutes from MC is Hidden Valley which will be practically deserted at night and the ticket is cheaper. The drawback is that HV only has 4 runs from the summit and is 620' vert. MC has a lot more trails, about 1000' vert and some more exciting terrain, of course since you're from the NEK none of the terrain in Jersey will be really exciting. The main drawback at MC is that if you ski Vernon (North) you have to take your skis off every run for the gondola.

I'm guessing they don't run the triple much at night?

I assume you're talking about the triple at MC not HV. I think MC only runs the triple when the gondola is on a wind hold and probably if the crowds warrant it. I've only seen it running once and that was for a wind hold on the cab. At HV the triple is the main lift.

So, is anyone from AZ going to be there Tuesday or Wednesday night?

sorry NEK not tomorrow night or weds night. i ski days on tuesday and thursday mostly. i drop off the kids at school and get there by 9:15... ski till 12:30... inhale lunch and nap till 4pm.. get up go to work from 5 till 12am. sking there during the weekdays is fine. no crowds at all. i just hope they start to open south by 10am now that southern sojurn (connects both areas) is open. it makes such a difference. now and in years past they only opened south at 12pm. the only other time it opened at 9am was during presidents week, another crowded time.

they where running it all weekend durring the day. there is no need to run it at night. i have actually got used to it.

if you get there after 4 there will be no one at either paid parking at north. or you can just park at south. then take the south peak chair come halfway down and take the sojourn over to granite peak the ski over to vernon.

i would have loved to come up i still may try to get a friend to drive up because she wants her board tuned so we will see. what night do you want to ski?

Either tomorrow or Wednesday night. Either night is the same for me. Wednesday night may work out being the better of the two since I will have more time to plan around my work activities.
