Met up with rueler and migs 01 at right around 4. Took a few minutes to get ready and then right as we were about to leave the infamous CNR of crankfire fame showed up to chat with rueler and migs for a bit. Seemed like a nice guy. He wasn't riding tonight so we wrapped things up and headed out. The only thing I really had on my agenda today was to hit that A-frame in the warm-up twisties area. This was my first time riding in the area in the light since I was showed it and was something I wanted to check off the list since everyone else seemed to be having so much fun on it. The a-frame went fine, it was easy as expected. I contemplated the jump right after it, but bailed instead, another time. From there we went across the caveman bridges and finished up that section. Migs had never seen the drop in the beginning section across from Scoville so we went in there to check it out. Rueler hit it with no problems and Migs handled it fine after giving it the once over. I, of course, did not attempt it.

From there we decided to go hit the standard loop. It was pretty uneventful, but some sections were a bit more tricky than usual due to all the leaves on the ground. I almost bit it on that narrow bridge in the middle, luckily it was right towards the end where there was a tree to bounce off of to keep upright. I cleared only slightly more of the sections after that. As I mentioned the leaves played some tricks, I got hung up in some ruts that I couldn't see on the first part of the Cornwall climb (on the fire road part), which never happens. I got really winded on the climb, probably more than usual. The rest of the loop was uneventful, just the normal bobbles for me. On the way back we stopped off and did the little loop with the skinnier a-frame at the beginning, which I hit with no problem. Rueler and migs played on some of the stuff in there and then we high tailed it back to the cars as it was getting dark and migs didn't feel like digging his light out. rueler and I both had ours going and we made it out, without incident, to the cars just before 6:30.

All in all a good ride. It was great to finally meet migs and a pleasure to ride with rueler again. I hope I didn't hold those guys up too much. It felt good to be back on the bike. I was a bit worried that my lower back, right hip would be bothering me again, that wasn't an issue though.

A very good ride! My sinus bug/head cold didn't cause any problems which was nice. I was psyched to finally meet and ride with Migs.

Bri, summed the ride up perfectly...just the standard RAW loop at a nice pedaling pace. I wouldn't say that it was uneventful though!! Bri did check one off his list- the a-frame! and, I could have sworn that I saw you clean the first technical hill towards the end of the cemetery twisties. You assured me you didn't, but it sure as hell looked like you got it!!

One other item of note: The techy table top roller in the section with the narrower a-frame is way less sketchy now!! I just took a couple of minutes to fill in the "tire grabbing" void that was on the back side of the rock.

Nice job on the A frames Brian! Sounds like a good ride. That always is an enjoyable loop. A little bit of everything.

Thanks. It was a good ride, my chest was bothering me afterwards though. I'm not sure if it was because of my cold (chest congestion) or the mild case of asthma I sometimes get, especially when breathing cold air. I guess it was probably a combination.
