Didn't know that Adam wasn't playing with them last week. The guy who sits in (standing next to Nate) is pretty good on guitar as well. Lyle is a buddy of Nates from when they attended the Boston Music Conservatory

We caught them last night at the Stone Church. Great show. Ckofer was there as well

Was kinda surprised by the lineup, last time I saw the NWG both Adam and John L. where in the house. Either way, the band is starting to gel for sure! The new album "Unbound" is fantastic and the more I hear Tom play the drums the more I miss "Uncle Sammy."

Here's another video......

The project really started as something for Nate, John and Adam to do when Reid Genaur scaled back his AOD schedule due to his 'real job' and young family.

John was eventually replaced by Nate Edgar as his schedule with AOD made it hard to make all of Nate's shows. The fact that John lives in NYC probably played a part as well as the rest of the band is in either Boston or the seacoast NH area. Adam is actually my neighbor.

Nate Edgar left when John Brown's Body schedule conflicted too much. I was at the first show that Tommy "Steve Dave" Lada sat in as a replacement for Nate Edgar. He was a natural fit.

Johnny Traumas band shared a few gigs with Nate in Boston about a year ago. He sat in a few gigs and they realized that not only does his rhythm playing free Adam up to do more, but Johnny adds some excellent lead skills of his own.

Unbound is awesome. They are currently close to finishing up their second album. Maybe they'll get out and play a bit more often. Nate's a pretty humble homebody type of guy and from interviews it sounds like he doesn't desire to tour as much as it would probably take to get a larger audience.

Wife and I headed up to Portland tonight and caught their first set at Venue Music Bar. Great place, an old friend owns it. Awesome space and really good food. Had a good convo at the bar with Nate. This week he signed a 3 record deal with a small Indy Label out of Boston, seemed super pumped about it. I think 2011 would be good for the band.

kinda

Nate was the keyboard player for AOD, Adam still is the guitarist, but AOD doesn't record and tour full time. Rest of the band is orignal members, though Johny Trauma and Tom Arey have played in a number of local New England bands.

Nate just wanted to do his own thing and lead a band basically. He had been the creative force and primary song writer for Percy Hill in the 90s and AOD in the early 2000s, but not the lead vocalist. Wants to sing his own tunes now. love it
