I am planning the family ski trip for the first week of March. We are from Canada and it is school break that week in Montreal. I am hoping to book a 2 bedroom condo, and ski for three days. Two adults, two kids (11 and 13). Since that is not school break in Vermont, am I better off booking now or waiting to see if any deals are available? Need ski in/ski out, very expensive at Jay for lodging compared to burke, but more non skiing options for the kids as compared to Burke. On the fence between the two hills and when to book!

We have stayed there in the older original condos and they cost a lot less and there are ski and splash options.

What about Smuggs? I always see lots of our friends from north of the border when I'm there during Canadian vaca week in March. More terrain than Burke and likely more affordable ski in/ski out options than Jay.

You are kinda late for Quebec week at Jay. I'd bet the resort is fully booked and that week is profit week.
Might want to try burke or call Sarah at Snobowl properties in the town of Jay. She has some condo rentals on resort and lots of nearby rentals that may be available. Good luck

I know a couple condo owners that rent at Burke if you're interested. Send me a PM.

Which are the older condos? As long as they are ski in/out, I am good for that!

They are off Interstate and close to the Metro Chair. The condo we have stayed at was very nice and lucky for us have been able to reserve it multiple times in the same unit.

This is bar none the most valuable information I will read on Alpinezone this month. Calendar updated. Thank you.

EDIT: To confirm, CAD schools are off February 29th - March 4th right?

It depends on the school. My understanding is that it is spread our over two weeks.

Too funny, I skied Whiteface once midweek, I couldn't understand why it was so crowded, and why I heard so much French being spoken. A lady informed me on the gondola that it was a Canadian holiday. It never dawned on me that WF would draw Canadians on vacation, live and learn.

Last year I was at Taos, I wondered to myself, "Why are there so many shitty skiers here? I thought Taos was an expert's mountain." I later found out it was Texas Spring break. There were tons of Texans at Wolf Creek too. You've got to hand it to them, 12-14 hrs of driving to ski once, or twice, per year. Not too easy to get better when you ski that little. All I spoke with were very nice, shitty skiers, but nice people.

a bit late but you may get lucky for Jay booking. ever since the water park, that place gets booked early. we rent the same condo each year and we do it a season in advance because we go there for the pres week, prolly one of the most busiest weeks.

Yes, but it seems one of the weeks it way worse than the other. The difference between "no go" and "go".

Thanks.
