so it rained... good rip though. The dog wouldn't let me rest at all, so we covered a lot of trail in a little less than an hour and half.

started up the road, made the left into some up hill single track which was in good shape despite the rain... acuatually, it felt like the wetness stiffened up the sandy sections and made things faster... we skipped a jump run and kept at the road past the green gate and up... merged with the blue trail to the top of storm chaser, but since it was wet, emma and i just rode the back cross country loop to the look out rock. it's in good shape. Nothing of note, other than its a good ride. Flowy...

i was actually able to make most of the hill climbs for the first time this year. Good stuff. even the last stint right before look out i was only 2 pedals off from clearing it. Anyways, from look out we connected to the free ride loops and into missing link. The loops were a bit sketch... mostly because i was by myself and it was raining. There's some pretty tech traverses that i just didn't even want to attempt. We thought about doing the"new" trail out that way, but decided against it and rode out missing link. Good stuff. Had to hit some jumps... hopefully they're ok. Felt firm. Anyways, once done that, we roaded it back to bobseld... which has a rebuilt step down jump that turns out to be gay... yea, i said it... who ever built it must like to pedal... a lot... you have to crank at this thing... stupid.

that brings us where... power lines.. ok, so the rest of the ride is pretty mellow, but the newer single track option to the blue trail exit is breaking in nicely and is offering some last good riding before the beer. good stuff

over all, glad to go for a spin, because as it turns out, i'll be at some flooring supplier all afternoon today and won't get a ride in.

Sounds like a good ride. I'm sure I've ridden on some of the sections you mentioned, the only one I recognize is the bobsled trail. Do you ride the trail down to the VW bug feature?

sometimes... i don;t like the landings on those jumps heading into that. Too Sandy. usually i'll skip that last section, even though the bug is pretty fun.

if you've been in nepaug with someone whos ridden there a bunch i'm sure you've done the trails i rode yesterday.

that back trail with the purple markings beyond storm chaser is one of the better pedaler runs i've ridden in this area. and it leads you to some even more fun.

I've never been in there with anyone that knows the area. I did a few solo sessions a couple of years ago. Last year I 'led' a ride and later in the year followed some friends who had been on a ride with knowledgeable guys, but unfortunately most of that knowledge didn't rub off on them. ;)

I only rode the section to the bug once, as is my usual MO I skipped the jumps, but I had fun on that bug.
