Hmmm . . . I wasn't going to ask permission on this one with my wife, just forgiveness.

I'll stop the next time up and see if I can get a phone number and price tag. It might be a great investment. Right? Probably better than stocks.

Atleast more fun than stocks(lately at least ;) ) I could only imagine if we bought this that either Kelly P. or Dave M. or even Tim B. would call us to the proverbial principles office for a discussion about "extracuricular grooming" ;)

Awesome info! I've seen so many cats and groomers over the years...but never had a chance to look at one up close. I need to start making contacts at Mt. Snow...I'd love to get out in one of them and just see how they work "out in the field". 8)

Sugarbush offer "rides" for a fee, at the start of evening grooming. I did it a couple years ago after a good day of skiing. They will accommodate up to 2 riders, but the best part is doing the grooming and chatting with the groomer about everything imaginable. It was a hoot to watch a groomer on a winch, working in the dark. Riding down these trails at night, very slowly down the steeps, is a cool experience. Coming up a lip you are nearly vertical, then "thump", you drop and flatten. Doing this at night just adds to the dramatic effect. If you go later in the season, they take you up to the top first and you can see sunset, when the valley is dark, very surreal.

That's cool! I never knew they offered that. It's something I'd certainly consider!

My kids and my wife got a ride in a cat at Mount Snow last winter. End of the ski day, my wife and I had just picked the kids up from Daycare and Snow Camp. I was sent out to the parking lot to bring the car upto the loading area, while my wife was agthering up the kids + their gear. One of the cat operators had parked his cat in between the Discovery Center and the Clocktower building so he could drop off a wallet that he had just found on the snow at the bottom of the beginner hill. My kids were standing next to the Bombardier and my wife was taking their pictures when the operator came back and asked if they wanted a ride. He tokk all 3 of them up Launch Pad, across to the bottom of Standard, down Standard and around the liftline ropes for Canyon Quad and back to the Discovery Center. They had a blast, I was so jealous ;) and when I posted what the operator had done on the Mount Snow passholder's site, he got employee of the week that week.

I'll put up a pick or 2 of the ride when I get to my home computer tonight (or just search that other site Glenn ;) )

Will do Jeff!

Great story! I sometimes still get carded at the packie...maybe if I have my wife take some pics of me near one, the operator will offer a few laps around the area. "I'm just a kid mister!"
