New lift at S6

Didn't see this mentioned before---I know they had problems with their old double the past couple yrs.

A new lift too. That's fascinating. Surprised they couldn't use the grant money to buy a used lift and spend whatever they saved elsewhere on the hill.

Looks like there will be a new lift installed in NE this offseason afterall!

Grant $ coming from the Rockefeller family---doesn't sound like they are hurting for cash!

The double was closed last Feb. because of cracks found in several of the lift towers. They kind of had to install a new lift.

Poma Leitner got the job. I'm sure it will be a nice lift.

Hmmmmmmmmmm! That will be interesting. We skied there a couple years ago on the Fox 44 card and the lift line was a little long yet under 10 minutes. This will solve that problem but they do not have huge snowmaking capacity and things could get tracked out or scraped off fast. Lots of ski racing clubs there and their lodge is small. There are a few nice runs that are off to skiers left. Skiers right looks good but trails were closed due to thin cover.

Hey since there is not much vert, lapping it it will be faster.

The lift stopped due to a problem when I was there in January. Took a while to get the auxiliary motor running and everyone off the lift.

Yes, my understanding is Skytrac and L-P are operating as separate companies for now. I suspect it will be fused more down the road.

Cannon is getting a new t-bar. not that anyone but racers are going to be able to use it.
