Sometime in February I am going to be taking a trip to Santa Fe. Among other things I would like to get a decent amount of riding in. Does anybody have any opinions on the resorts out there? For obvious reasons Taos is out. How are some of the other resorts in the area: Ski Santa Fe, Angle fire, etc? Any advice would be a great help.

I am definatly going to go to Angelfire and Ski Sanat Fe. Are any of the smaller mountains in the area worth a visit?

NM snowboarding

I grew up in Northern New Mexico - so can personally vouch for these places.
February is generalyl the best time to go as early season (december) can be sketchy and January can behit or miss. That being said - this year is a banner year and it seems every time I talk to friends or family - they've gotten an additional storm.

Taos - world class and best steeps/deeps in NM, but one of four resorts in the US not open to snowboarders.

Angel Fire - Not too far from taos, but totally different in terms of terrain. Not nearly as fun, pretty flat and full of texans ( NM and colorado version of New Yorkers in VT).

Ski Santa Fe - Fun place, especially if the upper part of the mountain is open with good glades.

Pajarito - smaller area that is comparable to MRG here. No snowmaking and not too much grooming, but good terrain and challanging runs.

There's my 2cents worth...
