Anyone pondered/heard any word on what Peak resorts will do when they complete the purchase of Attitash and Mt. Snow?

For next year I'm considering going for season pass at Pat's Peak instead of Crotched, but if Crotched will have a multimountain pass, I just might keep with Crotched.....

Just wasn't sure if anyone had read anything/heard anything..

Definitely worth watching...

Would maybe switch from S-O-S weekday pass to that if it happens.

Don't look for any info untill after the purchase is completed. But the marketing staff at Sneaux would like to tap into crotched's base so something might be in the works.

Could an admin please just ban this punk? He obviously has nothing good to contribute. Just take a gander at his past posts. 90% troll, 0% content.

Just curious...why is it called "Sneaux"? Never been there, but I've seen this term before.

just a little spin

for the record it is "Mount Snow" not Mt. Snow. It is located on Pisgah Mountain.

if I want to annoy some close to me I call it Mt. Sneaux and I will get a response with it changed to Mount Snow in a different color.

It was named after the original owner of the moutnain. Walt (im not going to attempt to spell his last name) originally purchased pisgah from a guy named snow and decided it was fitting name for the ski area.

Glad it isn't called pisgah. Saying it sounds like the sound one makes when you sneeze but cover your mouth and hold your nose.

I just call it Sneaux for a little twist. Like putting an accent on "Target", and making it sound French, lol.

It is actually called Mount Snow now. I don't recall when they changed the name, but on new topographical maps, the peak is indeed Mt. Snow.

The mountain has never been changed to Mt. Snow it is still Pisgah. Walt bought the farm at the base of the mountain from Rubin Snow. About 300 acres of dairy farm and it included the now snow barn which was yup a barn. Liked the name and called the ski area Mount Snow.

It's also a way to tweak the clientele.

Anyway, on-topic, if ASC holds on to the River and the Loaf and sells a reasonably priced pass for both, then that would be the one I will get. But, with the ASC situation going from day to day and the Otten purchase of one of those mountains a possibility, then that would be the end of that pass idea. Killington-Pico would be a good combination too but that would probably be an arm and a leg price-wise. S-O-S would be good if you want a consistent product of the groomed variety. Snow-Crotched-Attitash would be attractive to Boston-based folk because of the distance factor. Above all, price will be a factor in all of this.

Lots of decisions to be made in the off-season.

I just wanted to know if it was a reflection on the clientele...

Aren't the S-O-S passes a little on the expensive side? I like Sunapee and would ski there a decent amount but the number of trips I'd have to do to make a pass worthwhile seems a bit high.

I think it's a reflection of what people perceive some of the clientele to be -- urbanites from NYC, etc.

I agree that S-O-S is expensive that's why it's low on my list of passes for next season. But, if they manage to lower the price, then that could be a contender. Won't help the crowd situation at Sunapee though and the up-market target of Stratton might make them keep this a high-end pass.

I think, however, that with the demise of the A41, there will be a price war of sorts with deals that will cater to the majority of skiers (like me) for whom cost is an issue.
