Nice Surprise this morning

So the Queen is over at SLU playing tennis with her Tuesday tennis buds and i 'm here waiting for my B-I-L to ariive tomorrow for some skiing ( Poor guy has not skied this yr due to illness) so i'm think go for a brisk 2/3 miler along the River for some exercise .

So i'm tooling along , lost in my own thoughts and i hear in the distance some guy yelling - i pay little attention . As the guy gets like a football field away from me i hear "Hey Coach !!!"

I still pay no attention -- geez i "retired from coaching college hoops BEFORE most of you were Born

Well Damn if it wasn't one of my former team captains that i havent seen since i was like 28 yrs old . It was GREAT to see him he gives me a BIG Bear hug , tells me he just retired was former chief HR guy for a downstate county and that his kid 6'8" played ball in college . We had some coffee and lotsa yuks . seems he's here in town visiting friends anmd relatives in the area . -- Great to see him

As those of you that coach know this is one of the "rewards" Cept i always think of my former player as being 20 - 22 years old --- Hey mebbe that means they think of the old man as still being FAST and ""Deadly __LMAO Always used to scrimmage against them back in the day . I was only a couple yrs older than all of them

whats ur background in hoops? are you a five star guy? you know the garf? 6'8"? if i was 6'8" comming out of high school i would have ruled the world!!

Yeah the funny part is apparantly the kid was /is a "gentle giant." His dad said if he could have ever gotten him "meaner" in the game the kid would have been an ANIMAL

whats ur background? u have to be a vicious killer in this industry....if u dont have a defined function u cant play organized hoops....at least at a decent level....i luv calaparis dribble drive offense....ever see these kids that avg 30 ppg in high school shooting the ball but cant play in college? u gotta be able to put the ball on the deck & explode to the front of the hole!!
