Eh, the Bethel police aren't all that picky. They'll bust locals, too. I probably can dig up my written warning for a plate light out if you really want to see it, and I know plenty of other people who have been ticketed for various violations while living in the area. I will say that it's a rather well-staffed department given the size of the town.
As far as nightlife goes, I'd be inclined to go with Suds or the FRB, depending on how much local color you're looking for (the FRB wins that contest hands down and can sometimes get quite interesting). Neither will really get going until normal bar hours, so hit some of the other places for apres (or take a nap so you'll be recharged for the evening's festivities).
hahahaha, you are so right on both counts.
I felt personally harassed years ago when I was driving a Volvo wagon. DE ticketed for a plate light out by OCSD ( Phil Taylor) Volvo's have 2 plate lights front and back. Even if one is out, the other works. Never without a "plate light"
DE ticketed because I was using the amped-up rear brake lights for driving in a blizzard at night. ( by Darren Tripp/OCSD after he had lost his Chief of Police position with Bethel PD) That was a nice Volvo feature that lit up your back-end like a Christmas Tree for better visibility in bad conditions. LOLOLMAO I got a ticket for using it.
I don't believe the Oxford County Sherriff's Dept or the Bethel Finest really care about your residence, they just like to hit the blue lights.
Don't discount the downstairs Pub at the Bethel Inn for "evening entertainment" Some nights it is a lost cause, but you never know when the right crowd will light it up. Who knows, anyone could be the spark that makes it "happy".
