Here is a link to a video i edited of some of my skiing buddies last season at Stowe and Mt. Washington. It's shot on those digital point and shoot still camears that also make little MPEG videos so the video quality isn't the best... but there sure is some nice snow!

Hope you enjoy it.

Yo PA Ridge Racer! Hope we get to make some turns together again this season. I have very nice new camcorder so I plan on making many ski videos in the coming months.

I would guess if you skiied from the top of the Rock Pile to Pinkums it would be about 4300 vertical feet, pretty awsume!

More specifically, Raymond Cateract. WHere was that in the vid? (Nice to here from you , Riv)

Nice footage, BTW, thanks!

I've often wondered what it was like up there... Looks sweet... Unless you fall...

There was a still photo with what looked like a GPS overlay or perhaps photoshop/paint edit of the ascent/descent route.

I thought the map overlay (or whatever it was showed the route down Raymond Cateract). Some of the video look like skiing down into the funnel, but I couldn't tell where in the vid they hit the steep part at tree line. I'll have to replay it. (Oh god! No that!) (I just got my Garmont Endorphins fitted yesterday. Anymore video like that, and I may need to be sedated.)

Rivercoil and others,

Yes the gps overlay does show the descent. They went up Tucks and down the cataract. I was not there so I can't say how it was. I am mountain biking with the skier pictured looking out from the observation deck and then skiing the snowfields this evening, so I will ask him some details. It does look like it narrows. The shot where it looks like he almost skis into a hole is definately from there.

All the video of MT. Washington is in that one section of the video starting with the obseration deck shot and ending with a couple 180 switch attempts which are from Wildcat the day after Mt. Washington.

All the powder/trees are from a large mountain in VT.
