Has anyone done sections or through paddled? We're going to do the Rangeley to Umbagog section in late June. It's about 45 miles long, wanted to hear anyone's experience.

That's an impressive bit of water JSM..and I have to admit I haven't really taken a look at it...have probably paddled some waters adjacent to parts of it at some time. Nice water....more than a few guys from lower NewEngland do stretches of it...mostly post over on http://www.npmb.com/cms2/e107_plugins/forum/forum.phphttp://www.npmb.com/cms2/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewforum.php?13
My one hint would be...not to pass up any of the smaller ponds in addition once we get into July/August....IF they're not that much out of the way = really nice in the afternoons going into evenings. You'll see tons more moose and deer near the smaller waters = moose able to wade in and feed off of bottom...on the water plants' salty roots.

My father and I are planning on doing the Maine section.. some year. Not quite sure when yet, but I imagine in the next 5 years or so. Can't wait!
