When we went to our ultrasound, the tech wrote down the gender and put it in an envelope, which I then brought to the bakery

Having just gone through it- congrats, and hold on tight! it's a hell of a ride.
You'll get tons of advice, much of which you'll ignore. And rightly so. One thing I recommend, for your own sanity and peace of mind, is to read Mchael Crider's Guy's Guide to Surviving Pregnancy, Childbirth, and the First Year of Fatherhood." It's kind of like "I hope they serve beer in heel" post the little plus sign.
