Mt. Sunapee is affordable I recommend the Flex Card which gives you $15 off regular price that comes to 43.50 instead of 58 Actually it's 25% 0f 58.

The Spring Skiing is not to be missed, April 1 -14

One does not need to buy a ticket. Grill all day be the beach ( be sure to bring red plastic cups) then bang out a few freebies in the afternoon,

A few years ago I purchased a Sunburst Card during March which allowed 3 full days Weekends for $99

I would keep my eyes open for those snazzy marketing deals of March!

AWF170, There are very few areas now that let moguls form naturally. Most mogul runs are cut with a cat.

Ummm not where I ski....

Just curious where do they do it?

Sunapee is the only place I have ever been that did it? I think sugarloaf might too.
Loon offers some of the best seeded bumps I've ever skied:

...(imho)...

man made bumps just top of the perfect Mcmountain experiance.

I prefer my mountain experience to be imperfect... :)
Come on dmc. You'd love to rip these bumps, remember?

As I've mentioned many times, I'm a huge advocate of seeded bump runs. Anyone aspiring to learn a good mogul technique needs to start on low-angle bumps. Most natural bump runs are on steeper terrain and the ones that are allowed to form on intermediate trails are usually erratically spaced due to them being formed by intermediate skier traffic. We talk a lot about seeded bumps and how they benefit those learning to improve their bump technique here. I prefer a natural bump run just like most people, but seeded bumps have helped me build the skillset needed to actually ski them [somewhat] correctly, not just survive them. I understand that there are many who believe in trial by fire and that you should just learn them on the blacks, but I still advocate for seeded bump runs.

Sure I'd love to rip them and I would... But I still
thnk it's sucking the soul out of bump skiing...

Everybody wants everything easy now-a-days...

I don't think mogul competitions are that exciting anymore.. it's all about airs now.. Cause anyone can turn good on those fake bumps..

Just my old school opinion...

I guess we should all be ripping the zipper on an old pair of early 90's era 205cm straight K2s then, eh? After all, equipment advances have made skiing easier too... ;)

My feeling is easy seeded bump runs are a means to an end, i.e. they can help an aspiring bumper gain the skills necessary to ski the harder, steeper, natural bump terrain. Nobody wants to be behind a gaper skiing his line, right? So, let them practice on the seeded runs first...

What is the

How to avoid rude people at Sunapee

1. Go in Lodge, grab a chair

2. Go outside and put your boots on

3. Leave Bag outside behind a Pop machine

4. Arrive a 7:15 AM

5. Bring own supplies ( Food)(Beverage)

6. Be rude yourself, Don't look at them in the eye!

Onecan get variety at Sunapee. One has to know the Mtn Cold.

For Example I skied at Sunapee last Sat Feb 11 and blastoff was an absolute thrill. The groomers created huge Camel Bumps which would launch you on incidental air (Air by Accident).

The last run of the day was the best in that their was no one on the trail. So I was able to get my Franz Klammer fix I'm getting a helmet!

Reason why sunapee will suck today:

50 trails open, 50 trails groomed. That is seriously the stupidest thing I have ever heard, its midweek why do you need to groom everything.

awf170,
it may be stupid to you but to me its perfect. we get that you don't like it there, great. move on. a great mtn to you is not necessarily a great mtn to everyone.

yes but it doesn't make sense to me. I can understand grooming everything on the weekend, but midweek there is no one there. 40 groomed trails is fine, but do you truly have to groom everything. It just annoys me because it is closest big mountain to me, and I would have probably went there today if they didnt groom every trail. I dunno know about you but if i was a carver and i wenter there and 40 out 50 trails were groomed i would still be happy. Whatever I really don't care anymore and Im not going to change what they do. I have more fun up lynn woods or the golf course skiing today anyway :D

Sunapee has an "inflated trail count" IMO, so grooming 40 out of 50 trails may mean at least one run down is not usable by the carver masses...

I would be fine with that...

As I recall from many days at Sunapee (not so many this year), there are always bumps in a section under the Sunbowl Quad, and Flying Goose is always bumped. There are usually a couple of the small patches of bumps around, too.

Granted, it is primarily a blue square carver mountain, but there are always bumps to be found.

I'm still pissed they raised ticket prices. If they had good snow, I wouldn't mind so much, but at $58, I'm willing to drive a little further and pay a lot less.
