Yup, late October/Early November cold across New England and it will be between the 3 fan guns of Woodbury , Mount Snow and all their fan guns (their mountain ops head even mentioned that they're thinking about atleast a little "blow for show" opportunity REAL soon on the Mount Snow passholders site this week) and both Sugarbush and Sunday River with their air/water and altitude and latitude.

If heaven forbid there's no real cold window until mid-November, well then it will be a total free for all between about a dozen areas for 1st to open title

SR if it opens early.... I still believe will be t2 with down loading.

The easy down and up mid station loading platform they put in a couple of years ago on the high speed locke tripple, gives them the extra elevation advantage and a shorter run to cover.

I'm comfortable they will make every effort to open asap. That was one of the original reasons why I bought a pass here. The boyne guns I thought were going where they put the new electrical work. Dream maker, escapade, Sundance and some other areas in south ridge. The guns need power. have seen the work on other areas. Have not really looked either.
What a positive topic. Early season turns. I likes that.:snow:

Wait another year or two and I'd bet that you'll have a different version of a base to summit chair there, and you'll probably be able to ride it with 5 of your steeziest friends ;)

I've heard a "rumor" that they're shooting for 10/31 as an opening date. It's hearsay....but something to kinda look forward too. 8)

The mid-station was installed in the late 90's and then not used for several of the ASC years until 2 seasons ago. It's a great way to load and unload skiers for T2 and Upper Punch.

Both accounts of the Boyne Low E guns are correct. Currently, most are trailer-mounted guns, but there are a lot of them at all the eastern resorts. Remember, you don't have to order SMI guns when you won the same technology. Bob is right on regarding the electrical mounts. SR is tower-mounting Low-E cannons this year for several trails.

I'll put my money on one of the Boyne resorts to open first again this year.

Thread above this has similar stuff. The mid station on the high speed locke tripple at Sr was put on a spring two falls ago to get it to just drop down when not needed and pop back up early season. Less labor and less time to do it..

Back in roughly '97 I can remember skiing T2 very early in the season on the Locke Triple w/midstation. Was pretty sweet.
