I don't like Organgrinder. If Hayride is like Organgrinder, I probably wouldn't be a huge fan.

Hayride is not like Organgrinder...It's a wide/steep run that UVM uses for Race Training/races..but they let it bump up early and late season. Why don't you like Organgrinder?

Big wide boulevard?

I actually like to hit Organgrinder from time to time. It's got a slight double fall line. It looks steep from the top, but doesn't feel steep once you get on it. Pretty tough to just not bang a left onto Spillsville though...

Boring, boring, boring. Groomed 90% of the time, and not particularly steep at all. When I have choices like Rumble, Middle Earth, Spills, Paradise, Twist, Hammerhead, Tumbler, Black Diamond, Semi Tough, Lower FIS, Exterm, Bravo, etc. et. al., why bother with Organgrinder?

Organgrinder is one of my least favorite trails at Sugarbush. Especially Upper. There's much better trails off Heaven's Gate than that thing.

As for Hayride, the only time I skied it was on a 3' powder day so obviously I enjoyed it, but I'm assuming it's not as great on a "normal" day.

Never caught Organgrinder on a good snow day. I always thought it was an excellent candidate for seeded bumps. This begs the question, are seeded bumps outlawed in Northern Vermont? Honestly, from SB north is IMHO the best belt of ski areas in the east and NONE of them seed bumps. Maybe the do on Gulch at Stowe, not sure though.

Absolutely. Not much of the carving type. I would rather make double the number of turns at half the speed any day.

Some days I don't like to make any turns...and just get in a tuck,,:spread:

anyway I like these run comparison threads...I made a list of some more that I'll post when things get slow on AZ

Exactly. But then... we're mogul freaks, too, Greg. The key to skiing bumps well is skiing groomers the same way you ski bumps. While I can carve if I want to, I can all but guarantee you'll never find me doing it. Short radius bump-style turns, usually close to the edge.

I don't like Organgrinder either, always too crowded, too straight. When I'm getting off HG I turn right......Paradise.

Same. I'm not a fan of Organgrinder or Ripcord. While I can have fun on cruisers to warm up or perhaps take a break, the snow on those trails often doesn't seem to be that good either.

As for Hayride, I've only skied it a couple times, so it's tough to say. It has a few more turns in it than Organgrinder, which is a plus. I'd probably still say it's nothing I'd seek out.

Edit: Not meant to imply that the top section of Ripcord necessary is a "cruiser", but it is often groomed except skier's right.
