Just go to Stowe where you can park in the heated underground garage and have your skis valeted to you ;) I hope they shine my boots too. Let's see, I'll spot one G for the garage attendant, and another G for the valet, that's fairly reasonable. A nice white tablecloth breakfast of ham, eggs and coffee for $35. I'm treated well, I think I'll buy a $4M cottage to use for one week a year, since it's getting a pain to fork out $2K a night for just a room... Boy, they treat me nice here. Wonder if I should ski today??

actually a group of us are going to stay there for 4 nights in feb. the pricing isn't that bad its a little over a grand. this is a couples weekend so the girls actually picked the place. we are having a nice bus drive us up. its a litlle more upscale than i do normally but i think it will be a fun few days.

I understand you're angry, and you're entitled to have your opinion, but, I think Gore and WF season pass holders get a SWEET deal on the price of season passes. So, maybe now you'll have to walk an extra bit, or take a shuttle, or, on the days you want to, treat yourself to a paid spot. Still, you're getting a good deal. That being said, the mountain probably should have announced this when it first started soliciting season pass purchases?

Anyway, I saw on SkiADK.com that Gore bought some additional shuttles and they've opened up additional lots. Maybe they bought them with the expected revenue the premium parking will bring in? Seems like a good thing for the throngs of people that have to park on the access road or distant lots, and a reasonable compromise, overall.

50-100 feet would be fine . . .

The two parking lots they're talking about quaranteening @ Gore would add about 500 feet to the walk . . . Or 5 football fields . . .

And I, for one, would rather they bump up the pass price once at the beginning of the year than basically impose a usage tax every time I go to the mountain.

HMM i guess you played badmitten in high school. A football field is 300 ft not including the endzones.

He was actually playing with your sisters b... never mind.

before making attacks please read the threads,
he made a mistake it's been pointed out

On a more serious note:

Of course we are pissed. We are just trying to stand up for what is right. Things like this are happening all over the place, shit we have to pay for TV these days, even if we don't have cable!

It's human nature, we think that we deserve the best. This is stripping us of the best parking and making it only available to those willing to fork over the most evil thing in the world, $. It seems logical that the close parking goes to those who show up early, I'm pretty sure that's how its worked for a while-

So understand, and most importantly voice an opinion against it It could happen at your hill next year, and hey, maybe it wont affect you, but still, what ever happened to standing up for principle? We don't all make 80k

Whoa, whoa, ... whoa, lets take it easy here. The way you guys are making this sound its a deliberate attack upon the common man.

Look, this shouldnt be shocking. Whiteface charges for the best parking spots, the rest are across the bridge, or along the road. Here in Jackson its ten bucks for the premium spots, or 5 bucks for the back lot (thats actually further than the ones you now have to walk from). Otherwise, to park for free you need to park your car 8 miles away and take a bus.

Gore will be offering increased shuttle service, and still offer close parking for free. Its not that bad. And you dont think something would be said if they increased season pass prices a hundred bucks or so? I doubt it.

This has become a fact of life, especially for Gore and Whiteface as they have no real estate offerings. If it means they continue to put out a good skiing product, then Im happy Good shuttle service and it really isnt a problem. Id much rather pay for good conditions.
