Resort or Ski Area: Pat's Peak

Conditions: heavy PP

Trip Report:

Daughter still sick and out of commission. My son's friend frequently goes to Pat's so decided to join them and check out the mountain for the first time. It was refreshing to arrive at the mountain at 8:25 and park right up to the base lodge at the main parking lot. At Wawa, you are at the borderline of missing the top parking lot at the time.

Very little and mostly non existent line at the chairs. 10 chairs wait at the most only once in a while.

Two inches of fresh, although heavy snow helped the condition. Not much ice got exposed throughout the day and it was mostly 100% open (they claim 100% but not exactly). Went though most of the trails from the top. Got a kick out of
the flattest little glades I ever seen at the beginning of Blast. That is a cutest
glades I ever seen. Cannot wait to bring my daughter there. It would be a perfect
first glades experience for her.

Next moved to terrain park area. As usual, found the easiest kicker and played around with my son. There is another cute glade in that area too.

When NASTAR opened, we took several runs. Cute little course. I got GOLD for the first time ever (because I stepped up in the age group) and ranked No.1 for the day with only 22.82 handicap. Not a very competitive day. Lucky me. BTW, they only charge a buck a run if you already have a NASTAR number. Shorter and less challenging course comparing to the one at Wawa but still it was fun.

Overall, it was a good day. My son learned that he doesn't always need high speed quad to have a good day of skiing.
