It was a beautiful night for skiing, on and off freezing rain, with thick ice on the chairs made for some enjoyable lift rides. I arrived just after 4 and meet Bob, Ga2ski, and roark. Ga2ski and roark were on new equipment so they headed out for some runs. I filled out my paperwork and then did the same. After a few runs meet up with the rest of the crew and we took some runs together and previewed the course. The course was pretty slick with an oddly placed gate or two, but it wasn't too bad. There were some technical difficulties with the wand for the red course which resulted in lots of reruns. After our runs we headed in, some went home, some went to the bar.

AlpineZone Team - 1st

It was a fun and educational night. I learned that I not only need to ski faster, but I need to get older and do it on telemark skis to improve my placing. I also learned how to fluff popcorn. I had a great time, it was good to meet you all. Congrats on the win Dave.

What trail did they do the course on? The last time I went they were using Upper East Wind for races, which made it a bit tougher going down Duster because of the fences they put up at the end...:???:

I believe it was on FIS, but I may be wrong. It was my first time at Pats and I'm still not sure of the trail names.

Yup, it was lower FIS. You had to skate/hike over from the Turbulence chair across mid Twister and through the woods, then hike up to a little bit below the normal start. It made for a bit more work (especially with my rerun!! - Charlie was already waiting in the start for me as I hiked up for run #3 (timed run #2). Course was pretty fast, FIS set up *firm*. One wacky gate at the bottom of the red course. Somebody took out the finish trying to make that last gate. Some others simply ignored it...

Also Charlie had the first good spill of the season on run #2. Looked like he caught a tip. He got back on the horse and took a fun run later down red again.

The video showed charlie hocking his tip the struggling with his pole. It was quite a show.

The trail conditions were pretty good but the blue course did have a couple of spots of pond ice. It was very good to have a good first day for the team. We showed a good improvement in the team points over last season.

Did I mention I won.

Ya Dave you won.:puke: Nice dress for your boards:spin: . You wuss.

Thankx for the report Ben. Your the new guy until we can find something else to bust you on.;-)

I think a couple teams missed last night. We took advantage. Everyone looked improved Scott and Roark were very obvious. Think about it Ga2ski racing on twigs with without a heel attachment. I wonder if that stuff will ever catch on.

Charlie looked a bit mad about his fall. His smile still was welcomed. Missed you Apres though. Come route us on next Monday.

I was told by Sarah of the Race department the Results may not be posted for a day. Phone line problems. Again they run a fun smooth deal. This place just gets making stuff fun for all.

Bob did you see that I won?

I can see how that chrome dome nickname might cause you to not use a helmet for so many years.

Dude you memory has gone to sh-- also. Take your geritol, and ice the knee and polish the boards and cover them us with that fancy dress.

Plan next weeks reason why you might not do well and then complain about something else and then take some equiptment of the trash and give it to your kids a brand new.
