Date(s) Skied: Sunday 3/15 and Monday 3/16

Resort or Ski Area: Pico

Conditions: Spring

Trip Report: Awesome 2 days at Pico this past Sunday and Monday. Due to family obligations me and my gf could only stay over one night, we were very lucky to get two awesome weather days. Got on the snow around 11 on Sunday, everything was crazy soft and the sun was bright. Did 3 hours of Gold Rush with my gf, she was doing awesome considering it was her fourth day ever being on skis. She went into the lodge around 2, I headed up to the peak. Awesome conditions on almost every trail up there. My favs for the day were birch glades, summit glades, and upper KA. Upper Pike and Upper Giant Killer were both open but I passed, I was kinda doubting my abilities after asessing the shape they were in. Awesome day, rode strong all the way up to final chair. Here's a pic from somewhere on 49er I think:

Monday morning I got second chair @ 9 and immediately headed to the peak, expecting some hard conditions. To my suprise, Upper KA was groomed really well and was soft top to bottom...did many laps on it. Hit up some other trails and then met my gf to check out @ 11. Back on the hill for 2.5 more hours of Gold Rush laps with the gf. Towards the end she wanted to try some blue squares...which was awesome. Good times! Some pics from early Monday morning:

Where did you stay at? I had thought of skiing Pico for a day on the way to Bangor, ME, but realized I had to make more miles east from NY to fit a morning in - so I hit a Maine hill. But while I was considering Pico (after having looked at 20 times on the way up to Kmart), I found that the Edelweiss (sp?) lodge was taken over by new management and was offering $50ish a night rates - and its right across the street (Rt4). Decent recent reviews were found of it.

Just curious. Looks like a sunburning weekend you had. Wish I could of done that place on Friday the 13th.
