An email I got from the area manager.

Knowing it's last minute --- if anyone is available tomorrow between 10-2 and would like to do a little painting we have the weather with us and would like to paint the outside of the rental shop and the lift house. As we speak Jim has painters on site doing the Lodge but the weather isn't going to stay this good for very long and they won't be able to get it all done themselves. With all the work going on up there it would be nice if we could get those other two buildings done. Also, be aware that the Ski Swap will be going on at that same time. Anyways, if anyone can give us a couple of hours it would be much appreciated. Thanks,

Actually, it is coming along pretty well, I put some pictures of the progress on my site. There is still a lot of painting to do though. The lift will not get a badly needed coat of paint this year, but hopefully there will be a different lift there next year anyway. The owner and manager are going to look at a lift and a few other things at another ski area the day after thanksgiving. I'll let you all know when I hear something.

The swap was fairly good, but not nearly enough to get everything that the ski patrol needs. When the area closed a couple years ago the patrol director took everythin and donated it to other areas. Honestly, no one believed that this owner would open it as a ski area. He is a builder by trade and has been buying up land all over town to build on. He seems serious about making the ski area work though and has been putting money into it. (something the former owner did not do in the 10+ years that they had it)
