Awesome (for this year). They got about a foot of snow. Not exactly light blower; more of feel like a cross between powder and corn turning into some nice crud as it got tracked. A little heavy but good for semi high speed GS type turns in the ungroomed. Woods were tough work compounded by the fact that I just have zero practice in the woods this year. Freefall and Blockbuster face about the same way but for some reason Freefall had the best snow of the day, all day (at least until 1:30), while Blockbuster had just a bit of crust. Strange. I understand the need to groom but wish they left Plunge ungroomed since Northface was groomed and is a much better groomer anyway.

My first time back to Pkill in about 5 years (IIRC) for various reasons after being a semi regular. All I remembered and more. Great place with a great vibe and completely uncrowded trails.

I was lured over to Platty w/ the promise of 15$ tix for the first 100 skiers/riders. My first time there... Thought I made a wrong turn untill I turned a corner and could see the double :) I could tell by the amount of cars in the lot that 100 tickets had been sold. At 30$ I figured enough driving, time to go skiing. Wish I knew another AZer was in the house. But it was a game time decision and I'm glad I went for it!!

you can almost always get a ticket from Liftopia.com for Fridays at Platty for usually $15 and you just give them print out and you ski with out having to race to be first 100 skiier

Yeah, my ticket for Platty was $12 via liftopia (and $2 after the $10 off code liftopia sent me to entice me to use them again).

Conditions were great yesterday, agree that Freefall was run of day, or Plunge into Giant Slalom (ungroomed).

I think Platty groomed because there was about 1/2 inch of ice sandwiched between that 10 inches of snow. Or perhaps for base preservation. It actually skied even better later on day after that all got busted up. I counted about 130 cars in the lot from the top of Blockbuster. By 3pm I only counted about 60, blissfull emptiness!

Here's another cheap Platty deal
wicz.incentrev.com/
They've lowered it to $10 from $15, there is a $3.75 handling charge, per voucher. It took just a couple days to get mine in the mail.

I can't say enough good things about Platty, what a gem! The fact all these cheap deals abound for those willing to look around, is all the sweeter. It pays for the gas for my 200 mile round trip...for now.
