Still not buying NWS' rain prediction for Plattekill on Saturday.

Looks to me like Roxbury should be above the R/S line. National Weather Service can eat my ass.

And this is as close as the R/S line gets Saturday during the overnight. It's close, but Platty is about 20 miles above that line = no reason to panic.

That is great, I think I will leave Middletown tomorrow early and try to ski Platty in the afternoon with my $30 ticket from pricechopper, stay the the night some where cheap, and ski Sunday. Hope to meet some people from here there. Thanks everyone for the help.:):):)

^ The 12z NAM came out (which was the model that did have some rain for Platty Saturday night) and is now colder and has Roxbury safely above the R/S line. The below pic is now as close as the R/S gets to Platty on that model (Saturday at 6pm), that's still a good 35 miles away I'd guess. In fact, there's not a single 3-hour NAM pane that shows temps above 32 for Platty through Monday. Also, the 12z NAM claims there could be light/trace snows at Platty tonight (Saturday) and this could off/on lightly continue through Sunday morning, but it doesnt look like more than a few inches.

What about Hunter..have to decide which one to go to Sunday

According to NAM, it wont rain there either.

East is theoretically better with this storm for snow, but if the model's right the snow amounts are going to be so small I doubt that should matter much to your decision. Again, this is just what one model says, and the reason I ran this particular model's update is because it previously had some rain in the Catskills. For instance, the below pic is the 06Z NAM for Saturday at 6pm. See the rain in or right near the Catskills? That's gone now. Disappeared to the south with the colder 12z run pictured above in my previous post.

I think I drive up tomorrow, with price chopper ticket, if is not bad weather, I ski tommorow and Sunday, if bad I ski just Sunday and use the price Ch. ticket another time.

Yelp for salon I will try that lol.:):p

Can you Yelp up some crackers and ketchup taken from the lodge for dinner? Get a beer and you can supplement it with bear nuts at the bar...

We are continuing to roll and pack the new natural snow on natural cover trails and plan to have most terrain open for Saturday.

That's a bit disappointing to hear given Platty's natural terrain MO, but given this snow-starved winter, I understand why they're doing it.

Hey Rambo, sorry I ditched GP to ski Platty, again, I'll be sure to bring you along for my first Powder Daize, if they ever have another one!

Looks like Scotty and I will be staying over Saturday night in Oneonta. Yeah, it's a little far away from Platty, but Scotty and I won't be dining on ketchup and crackers, oh no, we'll be pigging out at the wonderful Brook's House of Barbeque, yummy!

Brook's is awesome! Hit it every time I'm near the area...
