I'm pretty sure I had Wonder woman on my MSN site for '04. I'll look and repost if I find them. 8)

Let me know which years were which costume. I may have others. 8)

I'm not sure how I found this thread but I figured I'd add my 2 cents.
Pond Skimming is a lot of fun! I have done it at Burke for the last two years. Both days have been beautiful. In 2005 it was my first try. I made it deep into teh competition despite trying to skim on my 173 cm K2s. I had by far the shortest skis and they did not provide enough floatation at slow speed. At any rate it is a blast to put on a costume ('80's theme in 2005). I was dressed as a AC/DC punk with a REAL mohawked mullet, florescent green pants and a WAY TOO SMALL AC/DC World Tour '88 t-shirt. Every time I went down the DJ in the race timing booth would play Hell's Bells. It was sweet. There were a TON of people there both years that I have done it. Check out some pics.

Here is the hair: :dunce:

Slow crossing (I barely made it across on this run. Check out the crowd on this Blue Bird day!):

Lots of Beer and partying afterward too!!

Does sinking damage your skis?

I look at it as really being no different than getting them covered with powder and letting it thaw or skiing through wet mashed potatoes in the spring. When you sink you are only submerged for a few second so you skis really don't have a long time to soak up a bunch of water. Besides if your skis are cracked to the point that they are letting water in, it is probably time to get new ones anyway

it is really not as hard as it looks. My first run down really surprised me (as you can see in the picture) I crossed the pond carrying A LOT more speed than I thought I would a flew over the 20 tabletop at the end of the pond landing about halfway down the hill on the otherside. I should have done something cooler than a straight air exit.

I am gonna need to do this this spring. Does sinking damage your skis?

Nah, your skis should be fine. I'd make sure to drain the bindings out pretty good, though, and (most importantly) remember to dry out your boots promptly and don't just put 'em away for the summer wet.
