There was a time when I was second highest, those days are gone and I see tons of people with more posts than I have.

Greg, I'm wondering, just how did you get so many posts, since 2001, when others have joined, not so long after that and are so far down the list on total posts? I know you have a vested interest here, what with the monitoring and posting guidelines and all that, and of course each one counts towards the post total. But you have some 2500 posts and the next nearest is some 500 posts. Sounds as though you have invested much time (and many posts) in setting this site up and maintaining it and posting the r____ , the rul____.... uh I can't say the "R" word
Somebody had to post here for the first two years... ;)

Seriously though, the skiing discussion only really took off last fall. The hiking board has always had modest activity, but never at the level of VFTT or the AMC forums. As I've said before I'm a member here first, admin second. I post on this as well as many other message forums pretty frequently. And you're right, being the admin will inherently result in a higher post count...

I always figured that Greg was an active moderator with a curious mind, so he read everything here and when he was interested enough - which was often - he'd post. Then there were the slow old days when he seemed to be trying to find ways to get any kind of relevant discussion going - or as a good host, he couldn't stand to see people come to his site and have no one to talk to.
