Unless they came up with new grooming implement it will still be the same. Okemo uses a two step grooming process to groom there snow. Ratings are still number 1 as far as i know. Curious to see what they have came up with. If not don't think it will be any different than the same old courdry surface, skiied off by noon. Time will only tell.

That's more because most people are on the very limited and crowded beginner and intermediate trails. Killington actually has a great grooming crew and fleet, but there are just too many people on those trails for them to not get skied off quickly.

Who cares???? A slope that's skied off by noon or 10:00AM for that matter in the east is.......normal...
Yes it is. Can it be different? It can. There is no reason why east coast skiing should be the way it is. Groomed for over 25 years. There is a implements that can be put on grooming tractors that can be used to groom the snow better. Due to manufactures that make the grooming tractors tell the resorts the power tiller is the only implement is needed. It requires putting on different implements on the grooming tractor. Front mount renovator and a farm implement on the back. Then you have to use them in the right snow conditions for this process to work. Trust me i know it works. Why they don't get used, another story for later. Got pics of them.

With the skier volume Killington gets on some of the trails (thanks to the way multiple lifts tend to funnel skiers down certain trails), there's nothing that is going to keep them in good shape all day.

I get baffled when I hear someone complaining to customer service about lack of grooming when there is a 1ft of fresh pow

That happened on an 11 inch day at Jackson Hole. All that snow fell from pretty much 2:00AM to 8:00AM..some people I was riding the lift with asked, what's a good groomed run and I just laughed. But when it's really crusty and rough after a thaw freeze..some nice groomed boulevard helps break up the filling chattering runs..

i dont think the moaning will ever stop.

I don't see that much moaning in that thread, and really.....most of it is well-deserved, considering how much Killington had been saying that it would be a more "quality" experience, when in reality, it was the same as always, just with a few less people.

If they'd just put a tiny bit more effort into it, they could have opened last weekend, impressed everyone (and in doing so, they would have likely shut up me, and most of K-zone), and kept the first to open in the east title.

way too much negativity for the start of the season. hope mother nature bails us out with some pow to shut everyone up. skiing and riding are supposed to be positive sports! i'm heading up to k tomorrow and if they have something for my board to slide on i'm gonna be happy no matter what!

They don't care about the "title" or the VERY small amount of people moaning...

Heard the skiing and riding was kind of marginal at the K. Reports from the K- Zone. Sounds like they groomed when surface was still wet. Not Good. Icy patches already. Heard like they had good coverage though. Hurried to groom to get open today. Qualitiy no. Get it open yes. Strike one for the quality. Still do not know how to groom with weather changes.

So...do you feel they should have delayed opening then? Could you imagine the fall out then?

you're right there are not alot of people moaning, just one. but he is complaining so much it seems like an army.

as far as the rest of your post, did you ski last weekend? if not, thats your fault. there were options closer to you than killington. Killington didnt open, I realize that and thank the few but vocal critics of powdr for the non-stop barrage of complaints about everything under the sun. If you want to piss and cry about powdr all year, go nuts, but i'm going to go ski killington and make my own decision about it. You might want to try the same thing. Or not. Its obviously your choice.

sorry if that sounds harsh but all this stuff has been stated before, repeatedly. Killington is open, you've voiced your displeasure many many times. If you dont like it, dont go there.
